Edwin is a chatbot who speaks to users in natural language, predicts the future and gives helpful advice.
Speaktoit's new iPhone application is called Edwin the Foreteller and it enables chatting in natural language with the chatbot wizard Edwin living in the mobile phone. Edwin can answer virtually any question typed in a chat window next to his image. This is almost like chatting with a real person with only one difference: Edwin can chat any time you want and as long as you need. Besides the horoscopes and moon phase calendars Edwin will give a sound piece of advice on what to wear today, where to go, whom to date, etc. He may even recommend how to do all these things the way that will be okay for one's karma. According to Edwin's own words he is over a thousand years old, that's why one might find some of his tips quite out of date and even challenging - like wearing a satin tunic to work or asking out the first lady you see. There is nothing we can do, anything for a good karma.
Edwin is not stuck in only one topic. If you would like to discuss something besides horoscopes or the future, Edwin won't tell you "I beg your pardon, I was designed to answer the horoscope questions only", he is ready to discuss other topics as well. The replies are so human-like that one can get a feeling that Edwin's creator is speaking instead of him. And since Edwin's knowledge base updates every day, it's very unlikely that you'll see the same phrase twice.
However, it's necessary to keep in mind that Edwin is a virtual conversational agent based on artificial intelligence technologies. That's why his recommendations, forecasts or any other replies should not be taken seriously, nor followed without thorough consideration.
