-- Eric Weil, IT Vice President of Equity Benchmarks for MSCI Barra, a subsidiary of MSCI Inc., was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.
Mr. Weil has 21 years of professional experience, with 14 years as the IT Vice President of MSCI Barra. Over the years, he has built up a comprehensive skill set that includes management, organization, team-building, team coaching, portfolio management, and index knowledge. On a daily basis, he is responsible for leading two development teams, as well as building a brand new production support team in Mumbai. Mr. Weil brings a wealth of experience to MSCI, in addition to his team management skills and strong technical knowledge. He is known for being a hard worker who thrives under pressure.
Prior to joining MSCI Barra, MSCI Inc., Weil worked as an IT manager for ABW'Soft from 1996 until 1998. From 1998 until 1999, he worked at JPL Consulting, where he managed a team of 20 staff members. He became involved in his profession because since the beginning, he has been working in IT. His studies were focused on IT and electronics/computing. Build a team is not only the addition of strong skills, but also diverse personalities.
Mr. Weil received an MBA in project management from the University of Geneva in 2006, having earned a Bachelor of Engineering in electronics from Sussex University in 1992. In years to come, Mr. Weil plans to continue managing larger teams.
