MALVERNE, NY, December 03, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Many know Erin Brockovich from the movie starring Julia Roberts about the pioneering environmental activist who helped attorney Ed Masry fight heavyweight PG&E over contaminated drinking water that affected over 600 residents of Hinkley, Calif.

Brockovich is the exact same go-getter as portrayed by Roberts, however, she did not stop crusading as the movie ended. She used her new found fame as a tool for public empowerment including "Challenge America with Erin Brockovich," a series on Lifetime, "Final Justice" and her book titled "Take It from Me, Life's a Struggle, But You Can Win."

As president of Brockovich Research & Consulting, she is currently working towards launching the Million Baby Crawl campaign which emphasizes the potential hazards that are in certain household toxins. The goal of the organization is to update the already extremely outdated Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976. She has joined forces with Seventh Generation, and Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families.

Brockovich sat down and told theCelebritycafe.com that she is doing a nationwide campaign for the children. Since they can't speak for themselves, parents need to sign her petition at _a href=http://www.millionbabycrawl.com_MillionBabyCrawl.com_/a_. Here, parents can make a digital baby that will stand as a petition signature.

"I think it's a great opportunity for parents to use their voice to carry a message to Washington where we hope we can in fact effect change and make things safer and better in the future regarding household cleaning products and the safety of our children," Brockovich told TheCelebrityCafe.
