A chance sequence of events prompted Ms. Humphries to her position as a senior human resources professional with more than 10 years of extensive experience in the nonprofit, manufacturing, distribution and service industries. She was originally a nurse, but suffered when she lost a patient. She then served as a nurse for a large retail company; when she was going to HR, she found out the manager left and she was able to fill in for that position. Now she is strongly positioned to deliver a well-rounded balance of human resources services. At Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, she applies her expertise in employee and labor relations to oversee a staff of five; she also handles public relations, benefits, pensions, and learning and development.
Ms. Humphries received a bachelor of science in business from the University of Toronto. She is a certified human resources professional and a member of the Human Resources Professionals Association. She attributes her success to her honesty, integrity, and relationship building skills; also to having empathy and being genuine.
