LOS ANGELES, CA, October 07, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- After two successful shows at The Comedy Central Stage earlier this year, the airwaves will part during October when Fake Radio performs, "The Philadelphia Story," "The Lone Ranger," and "Meet Me in St. Louis" along with a serialized "Superman" script at each performance, live at The Lost Studio.
Thursdays, Oct 1, 8, 15, 22, will feature the Lux Radio Theatre's presentation of "The Philadelphia Story." The radio script was adapted from one of the greatest romantic film comedies of all time that featured the three biggest Hollywood stars of the era, Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart.
Friday nights, Oct 2, 9, 16, 23, brings "The Lone Ranger," one of the longest running, most popular and beloved radio shows in US history. Once again the legendary call of "Hi ho Silver, away!" will sum up Episode #1 which originally aired in 1933 and "The Missing Heir" from 1946.
"Meet Me in St. Louis" takes stage Saturday nights, Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24. First presented by the Lux Radio Theatre in 1946, it was adapted from the film hit that starred Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien.
Additionally, one episode of the 12-part "Batman's Great Mystery" will be performed each evening. That series, which notably featured Clark Kent and Superman, aired over several months in 1948.
"Fake Radio" is a troupe of talented actors, comedians and notable guest stars that re-creates live, staged versions of radio broadcasts from the 1930's - 1950's. Performances use actual transcripts from the radio shows, including all of the original commercials. One part historical and one part hysterical, these shows recapture a lost era while introducing new generations to a classic art form.
Since Fake Radio's founding in 2000 numerous notable guest stars have appeared with the troupe including: John Larroquette ("Boston Legal," "Night Court"), Fred Willard (Spinal Tap, A Mighty Wind, Best in Show), Jeff Garlin ("Curb Your Enthusiasm," Wall-E), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers films), Mark McKinney & Kevin McDonald ("The Kids in the Hall"), Dean Cain ("The New Adventures of Superman"), Debra Wilson, ("MadTV"), Marcia Wallace ( "The Simpsons," "The Bob Newhart Show"), John Lynch ("The Drew Carey Show," Fargo), Tom Kenny ("SpongeBob SquarePants"), Denny Siegel ("Whose Line is it Anyway?"), Phil Proctor (Firesign Theater), along with noted comediennes Maria Bamford and Cathy Ladman, and others.

More guest stars will be announced.
Fake Radio is produced and directed by David Koff. After being a cast member of Fake Radio for several years, David began directing and producing the show in 2004 when the show's creator, - Robin Jones, gave David his blessing and then promptly fled from Los Angeles. David's acting credits include "The West Wing," "Threat Matrix," "Medical Investigation," "Line of Fire" and "Sesame Street."
