/24-7PressRelease/ - GLASGOW, UK, September 11, 2008 - With the closure of the Super fast ferry service from Rosyth to Zeebrugge in September, Scottish travellers still have a quick and easy alternative to the Super fast service - DFDS Seaways' daily sailing from Newcastle to Holland, providing easy access to continental Europe.

The DFDS Seaways' port is situated just outside Newcastle city centre, a short distance from the A1 motorway. This saves travellers from Scotland from driving to Hull or the South Coast, conserving both journey time and fuel costs in the process.

DFDS Seaways ferries offer live entertainment, bars, restaurants, shops, cinema and a Kids Club in the school holidays. Passengers should arrive refreshed and ready to enjoy their holidays in Holland, whilst journeying through Europe is also a viable option, with Germany, France, Belgium all within easy reach.

Prices start from only 50 per person based on a car and four passengers, one way.

Coach Service Provided

DFDS Seaways is also making it even easier for Scottish travellers to take advantage of their Newcastle to Amsterdam mini cruise breaks by organising two coach pick up dates in November, creating seamless short break weekends from Scotland to Amsterdam.

Travelling outward bound on either the 7th or 21st November 2008, pick up points are:
• Perth Railway Station
• Dunfermline - Bruce Street
• Edinburgh - Waterloo Place
• Berwick upon Tweed Railway Station

From these locations the coaches will journey onto Newcastle and join the cruise ferry over to Amsterdam. Customers will be able to enjoy the majority of the day in Amsterdam, returning on the 9th and 23rd November. Meal inclusive packages are also available, including an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet and hot buffet breakfast on both crossings.

Prices for this service start from 79 per person including coach transfers, 2 nights on board ship in a 2-berth inside cabin.

DFDS Seaways offers a wide range of holidays and short break options from activity holidays and Center Parcs Europe, to mini cruise breaks, as well as cottage holidays, river cruises, the ever popular festive collection of Christmas Markets and New Year's Eve cruises.

If you wish to book or require more information, visit the DFDS Seaways website at www.dfdsseaways.co.uk.
