Cambridge Who's Who
/Cambridge Who's Who/ - Matteson, IL, March 5, 2008, Gary G. Harris, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ice Hole Expander Corporation, has been recognized by
Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in fishing product inventions.
A former physical education teacher with 35 years of experience, Mr. Harris was a charter captain for 10 years, a fishing guide for 20 years and a hunting guide for 10 years. A passionate fisherman and inventor, he has excelled in patenting unique products designed to change the world of ice fishing. His inventions, the ice fishing device for increasing the effective radial fishing range beyond the radius of a fishing hole, as well as the ice fishing line protection device, for protecting micro fishing line as light as one or two pound test, comprising an elongated tube with an internal passageway through which a fishing line may pass, have earned him two patents. With a third patent in the process of receiving official recognition, Mr. Harris hopes to consolidate even further his reputation in the field.
Mr. Harris earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University in 1972. He is a member of the National Education Association, presented four national programs as a physical education teacher, and has been running 'Jump for Heart' for 18 years. Mr. Harris is the winner of the 'Reader's Choice Award' for Sporting Goods in Ice Fishing in 2005, and two-time recipient of a "Those Who Make a Difference" Award.
