/24-7PressRelease/ - MOUNT CLEMENS, MI, February 29, 2008 - Theresa Randolph is a Canine Massage Provider, a Professional Member of the International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork, and certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. She is retired from the City of Mount Clemens, MI where she was a valued employee for more than 27 years.
Theresa has always had a deep affinity for animals, especially dogs. As a city employee, she initiated and opened the first Dog Park in Michigan. When she retired, she discovered an opportunity to pursue a new career in a field that allowed her to indulge her passion for animals and to benefit those animals at the same time. Canine Massage is a deeply rewarding activity for both the dog and the provider.
Theresa states "the difference between massage and petting is intention with technique. It is working to create a specific response for an intentional benefit." Canine massage increases circulation which helps ease pain. Massage strengthens the body and restores flexibility by stimulating muscles. It reduces stiffness in older dogs and comforts tired muscles. Massage energizes geriatric dogs and calms energetic dogs. It also increases tail wagging!
Theresa uses her unique skills to help shelter dogs deal with cramped quarters while waiting to be adopted. She actively participates in fund-raising events to support specific animal welfare organizations like the Michigan Basset Rescue, Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society, and Best Friends, among others.
When asked about her short and long term goals Theresa said "I would like to extend my practice to benefit the largest number of entities possible. This includes expanding my influence in both the private and public realms. Hopefully I will find it necessary to add additional canine massage providers to accommodate that need in the future."
Theresa also offers canine massage classes for adults and children with "Beam the Massage Hound" her puppet partner. She includes a dialogue with the children about dog bite safety. She is a trained puppeteer and a member of the Detroit Puppeteers Guild since 1992.
