DONCASTER, ENGLAND, December 23, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Completly exclusive to Simply Ghost Nights Ripon Museum is a very active location. Step back in time and take in the atmosphere of the doom and gloom the poor unfortunate residents of the workhouse would have felt from the moment they stepped through the door.

"Hush-a-bye baby, on a tree top. When you grow old, your wages will stop. When you have spent the little you made. First to the poorhouse and then to the grave."...... This rhyme tells the story of many a working man's life in the 19th Century. The rather elegant building in Allhallowgate, standing in grounds graced with flower beds, trees, lilacs and even a passion flower, seems far removed from the dreaded Workhouse in Oliver Twist.

On a previous event we experienced the following in a vigil with Stuart and Phil in the washroom area the group made spectral contact with a male sprit called Robert, Robert claimed to have been a resident at the workhouse in 1878. However what happened in a table tipping experiment would amaze the group of ghost hunters, after a fantastic display of table tipping from Robert it was suggested that the group came away from the table and held their hands above the table.

The group asked Robert to move the table with no one touching the table and to the groups shock the table moved about an inch not once but twice to the group's excited squeals and whoops of delight. This example of spirit power totally amazed the group who witnessed this fete of ghostly strength.

A feeling of doom or at best hopeless resignation must have fallen on many passing through the Gatehouse arch and hearing the door shut behind them. They knew they would leave only in the regulation coffin, 'with two handles, name of the person with the year of their decease inscribed'. Coffins were ordered in bulk.

Join Stuart & Rosey and the Simply Ghost Nights events team for a ghost hunt in the U.K and for a scary night of terror and laughter and confront your fears as you attempt ghostly spirit communication on a ghost hunting night, at some of the reputedly most haunted ghost hunting venues and overnight ghost hunts in locations across the U.K.
