AUSTIN, TX, November 01, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- GreatMomentsinParenting.com (GMP) has created a unique "judgment-free" parenting website dedicated to the humorous and heartfelt exploration of modern parenting. According to founder Virginia Woodruff, GMP offers a unique online opportunity to create camaraderie amidst the "agony and ecstasy of life with kids." The site is now open to submissions by any parent with an engaging story. The site is already populated with content that is easy to share.

"This site is different because it's not promoting or celebrating any one style of parenting, nor is it one person's blog," said Woodruff. "We're creating a community of parents who need a space to share their offbeat stories, read other people's tales or get published. Parents can be very judgmental of one another. But on our site, you can be honest, heartfelt and poke fun at the chaos. In other words, you can be yourself and know you're not alone in this crazy journey called parenting." The site is an open blog model where anyone can submit content for publication consideration.

Unlike many parenting sites which are geared toward women, GMP is also designed for men. A big draw for both writers and readers is that dads also have a point of view worth sharing. "Most parents, guys included, aren't actually preoccupied with designer diaper bags or growing their own organic baby food garden," Woodruff added. "They just want to know they're not the only ones scrubbing something mysterious off the wall. We all crave assurances that our kids are happy and OK despite our foibles. And sharing our true stories by everyday moms and dads is a meaningful way to do just that."

GMP features moments (short posts), essays and photos. Essays may be written using prompts including: "Whatever Works"; "I Knew I Was a Dad/Mom When..."; "The Day That Never Ended." Each month focuses on a different topic which may include Halloween Tales, Holiday Hassles, Beach Combing and other seasonal themes. Submissions can be made with real names, pen names or user names.

To submit essays, stories or photos, please see submissions guidelines athttp://greatmomentsinparenting.com/submit-a-moment/.
