WELLS RIVER, VT, July 25, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Helen M. Bogardus, Licensed Practical Nurse and Weekend Supervisor for Woodstock Terrace, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

Helen M. Bogardus has worked in the medical field for a total of 20 years. A licensed practical nurse, she works primarily with geriatric patients and those requiring assisted living care. She is licensed in mini nutritional assessment through the Nestle Nutrition Institute and has participated in a skilled medical program in Tilton, New Hampshire. Additionally, Ms. Bogardus has attended several educational seminars. For her many accomplishments, she was nominated the 'VIP Nurse of the Year' in 2008.

Always known as the caretaker in her family, it became obvious to Ms. Bogardus that she should pursue a career in medicine after being entrusted with the care of her grandfather. She was also greatly inspired by a man she cared for, who was stricken with multiple sclerosis and became a quadriplegic as a result. His situation prompted her to follow her dreams of becoming a nurse.

Ms. Bogardus believes that the highlight of her career was having gained confidence in her nursing abilities through extensive training and many years of experience. She attributes her success to her caring nature and advises others who aspire to enter into her profession to follow their hearts. To date, she considers her greatest professional accomplishments to include earning her license in practical nursing and appearing in the Cambridge Who's Who Distinguished Nurses of America 2010 calendar.

Nestled in a tranquil Vermont village, Woodstock Terrace is an assisted living facility that provides continuing care, respite, memory care and community services for the retired population. For more information about Woodstock Terrace, please visit http://www.terracecommunities.net.
