NEW YORK, NY, July 5, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Paolucci, retired Detective Sergeant for Forensic Investigations of the NYPD for The City of New York and President of Forensics 4 Real, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in investigative services and forensics.

Mr. Paolucci began his career in uniform, patrolling the projects of the South Bronx, and advanced to the Organized Crime Control Bureau, where he worked as an undercover officer in the Narcotics Division. He was promoted to Detective, and soon made Sergeant. As a Sergeant, he performed duties in Central Harlem, Traffic Control, and the Internal Affairs Bureau, prior to finding his home in the Crime Scene Unit. His hard work and superior understanding of forensic evidence made him the clear choice to be the first-ever to command a new unit that was responsible for managing and vetting all DNA evidence collected in the City of New York. He trained personnel from the NYPD and outside agencies in DNA evidence collection and documentation, and all NYPD investigators were instructed by the Chief of Detectives to contact him with any questions regarding DNA evidence. He also served as the "One Voice" for the NYPD, when outside agencies needed information regarding any forensic evidence submitted for analysis.

Mr. Paolucci attended Bard College, received a Bachelor of Science from Iona in 1990 and holds various criminal justice certifications. He is a member of the International Association for Identification. The Mayor of New York City, and Police Commissioner, awarded him with the esteemed "Unit Citation" for his unit's performance in the year 2009, after only one year of operation. Mr. Paolucci and his staff of four officers and a Forensic Scientist vetted, tracked, and were accountable for approximately 20,000 vouchers of DNA evidence annually. He was promoted to Detective Sergeant in June of 2010. Mr. Paolucci teaches students of Criminal Justice and Forensics, trains small police agencies, and consults with film makers and practicing attorneys.
