SOLVANG, CA, August 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joseph Jason James Robert Harvie, Assistant to the President of New East Management Group, Inc., has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Office Administration. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.

Joseph Harvie brings 37 years of professional experience to New East Management Group, a property management company specializing in commercial and residential real estate holdings. He works primarily in the office of the president, where he is charged with performing a myriad of administrative duties. His responsibilities include managing operations, clearing the president's desk for all company departments and divisions, and handling the president's personal calendar and appointments.

Depth and diversity of experience are the driving forces behind Mr. Harvie's success. Prior to joining New East Management Group, he functioned as assistant to the president of Circle K Ranch Corporation and as aide and private secretary to H.E. Sheik Abdullah O. Mahdi, minister of civil aviation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also worked in law enforcement and security with the United States Federal Police, as chief of police of the San Francisco Parking Authority, as chief of campus safety and security at Hastings College of the Law, and as police officer II with the Department of Public Safety in Guam. From 1957 to 1972, he served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Harvie considers his 13-year stint in Saudi Arabia to be the highlight of his career.

Mr. Harvie received his associate degree in police science from the University of Guam. He completed coursework in advanced police technology through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, training at the Basic Police Academy at the University of Guam, PC832 arrest and firearms training with the San Francisco Police Department, and coursework in crime prevention for college campuses. Honors of which he is a recipient include a Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V, a Navy Good Conduct Medal with two stars, a National Defense Medal, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and a Republic of Vietnam Service Medal with five campaign stars.
