/Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Joseph Konys, Executive Director of Mercy Health - The Heart Institute, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the executive direction of cardiovascular care in the Cincinnati area.
After gaining experience as a senior administrator in regional hospitals and surgical Physician Assistant, Mr. Konys earned the distinction of Executive Director for Mercy Health - The Heart Institute. Mercy Health - The Heart Institute is a multi-facility organization that provides cardiovascular care to patients from around the region and nation. An expert in leadership, relationship building, and cardiovascular operational knowledge in a clinical environment, Mr. Konys is responsible for serving as the Executive Director for a service line encompassing six major hospitals, and works with the Chief Executive Officers of those hospitals to facilitate long-range strategic planning and operational cardiovascular care.
In the industry for 12 years and in his current position for the last two, Mr. Konys attributes his success to understanding the importance of building sustaining relationships and to the mentors that nurtured him throughout his administrative and clinical career. Prior to attaining his current position, Mr. Konys worked as the Business Director, Center for Surgical Innovation, the Director, Clinical Integration and the Assistant Executive Director at UC Physicians - Surgery.
Mr. Konys earned his Master of Health Services Administration in health care administration at Xavier University, MPAS at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Bachelor of Science in health professions at Kettering College, ASN in nursing at James Rhodes College, and his BMS in mortuary science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, MGMA-ACMPE, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, and the American College of Cardiology. Recognized for his diligence, he earned the Alumni Rising Star Award in 2009.
