GLEN BURNIE, MD, October 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karin Alissa Barnowe, Activities Manager for Glen Burnie Health & Rehabilitation Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in senior services.

With 16 years of professional experience, Ms. Barnowe specializes in activity planning. She joined Glen Burnie Health & Rehabilitation Center in 2008, motivated by a desire to work with the elderly. In her current position, she is responsible for preparing activities for residents, organizing field trips and special events, and managing activities for the Gateway unit. Previously, Ms. Barnowe worked as a French, dance and music teacher, and participated in a Lay of charity Missionary retreat in Italy in April, 2009. She attributes her success to her faith in God.

Ms. Barnowe received her Master of Arts in Teaching French in 2002 from Lewis and Clark College's Graduate School of Education and Counseling. She also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music in 1998. In her spare time, she volunteers with the Missionaries of Charity and Lay Missioniaries of Charity at Gift of Hope, an AIDS hospice in inner-city Baltimore. Ms. Barnowe enjoys working with the senior population and looks forward to more years working in the same capacity.
