Kimberly K. Stanford Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Home Health Care

Kimberly Stanford has been named a VIP Member for 2011-2012



    SARASOTA, FL, December 6, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberly K. Stanford, RN, BSBA, QMHP, Owner of A Bridge For Independence LLC, has been recognized as a VIP Member by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in home health care.

For the last four years, Ms. Stanford has owned and operated A Bridge For Independence, a company that provides home health care to individuals in need, whether they reside in their own homes, an assisted living facility, a nursing home or during a hospitalization. It is the only business offering mental care services in her area. Utilizing her 25 years of experience in the field, Ms. Stanford handles interviewing, hiring, training, and other human resources functions, and oversees all of the company's financial transactions, operations, and sales and marketing initiatives. In addition, she supervises the company's 60-plus employees. Her expertise includes general home care, mental health services, Alzheimer's disease and dementia care, and geriatric care management.

Ms. Stanford's company provides emotional support, transportation, meal preparation and planning, light housekeeping, medication reminders, household organization, errands, laundry and much more.
In addition to helping individuals in their homes, Ms. Stanford will offer Home Watch Services effective January 1, 2012. The Home Watch Services will provide seasonal clients with "peace of mind" when they leave for the summer months. The services will also benefit clients who are vacationing or need to leave their home for a short period of time. Services will include inspections for water leaks, checking the A/C unit and humidistat, inspecting for pests, running faucets and flushing toilets, and verifying lawn/pool services are completed. It is the goal of the company to provide "a Bridge of Services for Independence" and freedom.

Ms. Stanford has been a registered nurse for 24 years and has been involved with in-home and long-term care for 19 years. She was inspired to go into nursing as a teenager, after caring for her mother, who was in a horrific motorcycle accident. After starting in home care as a pediatric nurse, Ms. Stanford established a home care company and operated it for six years with much success. Afterward, she began working as a regional manager in home care, and did that for 10 years, for national and international companies. This experience included starting a home-care convalescent platform for Novartis Nutrition. It was after working in home care for more than 18 years that she decided to venture out on her own and open her business.
Ms. Stanford is pursuing an MBA with University of Phoenix. In 1992, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing from Minnesota State College, four years after becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse from Alexandria Technical College. In 2000, Ms. Stanford received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University. She is also a licensed administrator and community trainer for Alzheimer's and dementia care, and a community instructor in CPR. In addition, she is recognized in some states as a Qualified Mental Health Care Professional.

Ms. Stanford holds memberships to the Sarasota County Aging Network and Manatee County Aging Network, as well as numerous community and civic organizations. She has been nominated for several awards for the excellence of her business. Going forward, Ms. Stanford plans to continue to provide quality service to her community and grow her company.
