    WASHINGTON, DC, October 30, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Kinaya C. Sokoya, Executive Director of the D.C. Children's Trust Fund, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in program development and implementation.

Kinaya C. Sokoya has nine years of experience as Executive Director of the D.C. Children's Trust Fund. She is responsible for planning, training on a local, state and national level, conducting presentations at local and nationwide conferences, hiring employees, performing evaluations, developing staff, managing finances, dispersing funds, and managing public relations. She became involved in her profession because she started as a school social worker and wanted to take her career further to affect the environment and produce significant change. She attributes her success to her ability to her focused nature, dedication and to seeing the big picture and how the parts fit into it.

Ms. Sokoya is pursuing her Ed.D in Higher Education and Administration from The George Washington University, having already received her Master's Degree in Business and Public Administration from Southwestern University. She is a member of the National Association of Black Social Workers, the National Association of Professional Women, the National Alliance of Children's Trust & Prevention Funds, and The Association for the Study of Higher Education.

The D.C. Children's Trust Fund is a public/private partnership established in 1993 through legislation passed by the District of Columbia City Council and authorized by the mayor. The legislation created a nonprofit organization designed to stimulate innovative programs to prevent child abuse and neglect. For more information on D.C.
