Having worked in a diversity of positions as well as a natural resource liaison officer, Ms. Dunham has developed a specialized expertise in ecology. She has utilized her skills and 14 years of experience to advise chiefs and councils of First Nations, which has played a key role in her building and maintaining relationships with industries and governments. Her diverse experience includes work involving analysis, evaluations, negotiations and project management.
Today, Ms. Dunham serves as an external expert consultant, utilizing her talents to meet the goals of various communities, and chiefs and councils of First Nations, assisting them in forging forward in the field of ecology. She advises them on increasing the use of their traditional territories, serving primarily the Taykwa Tagamou Nation. Currently Ms. Dunham is also involved in a hydroelectric-redevelopment project, as well new hydro developments, other green field developments and mining developments.
Being familiar with different cultures is what helps her in this line of work, and she is fluent in many languages. She now considers herself an expert in bridging cultures to handle project management responsibilities. As she moves forward in this profession, Ms. Dunham plans to continue developing partnerships with First Nations.
Ms. Dunham is a graduate of the University of Toronto, and she holds a Bachelor of Sciencein ecology and environmental biology, a post-Bachelor of Science in resource management and a Master of Forest Science in ecology and hydrology. She has also earned an FSC certification and accreditation in ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
