RALEIGH, NC, February 13, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Kroger Co. (http://www.kroger.com/), the nation's largest traditional grocery retailer with 14 stores throughout the Triangle and North Carolina, has announced it will co-host alongside Time Warner Cable an appearance by Bravo TV's Top Chef Season 6 contestant James "Eli" Kirshtein on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A renowned chef and culinary expert, Kirshtein will visit Kroger's Raleigh store at 6300 Creedmoor Road and will present a selection of his favorite recipes and cooking tips for attendees.

A 25-year-old native of Atlanta, Kirshtein serves as the executive chef of ENO Restaurant and Wine Bar in that city. He began his culinary career at a young age at Atlanta's Buckhead Diner under Chef Kevin Rathbun and quickly moved to the now-defunct Fishbone restaurant under Chef Richard Blais. Upon graduation from the Culinary Institute of America in New York City, Kirshtein returned to Atlanta to serve alongside Blais as the sous chef of One, Midtown Kitchen before assuming his present position at ENO.

"Eli is a fantastic chef who has prepared world class dishes for some of the leading names in the food industry," said Carl York, advertising and public relations manager for Kroger's mid-Atlantic marketing region. "Having Eli visit with us to share his culinary expertise and kitchen tips with our customers is surely to be a premier event that people will want to enjoy."
