    BOWIE, MD, November 4, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Larry D. Rich, Principal of Sligo Adventist School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education administration.

With 18 years of experience as an educator, Mr. Rich is best known for his skill in building positive working relationships. He brought his talents to Sligo Adventist School in 2005. As principal, he is in charge of developing curriculum and instruction, overseeing information technology, planning and facilitating school activities, observing and evaluating teachers, interacting with parents, and attending school board meetings. Additionally, he is responsible for participating in the church finance board and working with the Washington Adventist University Education Professional Development Schools Coordinating Council. Mr. Rich considers making a difference in children's lives to be the most rewarding aspect of his career. He attributes his success to being a people person.

Mr. Rich earned his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2003 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, with a minor in Business, in 1989 from Pacific Union College. His professional affiliations include the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He was honored with inclusion into Who's Who in American Education (twice) and Who's Who Among American High School Students. In his spare time, he volunteers with PathFinder and his local church. He also enjoys golfing, water and snow skiing, team sports and playing tennis.
