LAS VEGAS, NV, September 23, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To say Allen and Susie Rosoff's home is unique would be like saying that Las Vegas is hot. From the 10,000 gallon indoor pool that sits within the main area of the 4,510 square foot octagon house, to the three bedrooms with no hallways, the Rosoffs have lived anything but an ordinary life in this extraordinary house. ---
Both the owners and the house are steeped in Las Vegas history. Rosoff's family traveled from NY to Los Angeles, eventually making their way to Las Vegas in 1952 buying the now famous Glass Pool Inn. It was Allen's father, Robert and his brother-in-law that came up with the idea to build an elevated swimming pool with large glass portals looking in as a way to attract tourists. Originally named, The Mirage, it was renamed in 1988 when Steve Wynn opened his Mirage Hotel & Casino. 295 E. Cactus Avenue is an entertainer's dream home and has served as the location for "Scare Tactics," a Sci-Fi television show as well as in a few infomercials.
Rosoff broke ground on the site in 1994, and the home was completed in 2000 after adhering to his wife's unusually strict criteria, "an inside central pool, no hallways to the bedrooms, and no mortgage." Rosoff relied on his structural engineer experience to ensure quality construction when designing and building their vision of the octagon shaped home. The Rosoffs created the group-sized indoor pool and spa first; the house went up around it.
Detailed craftsmanship and skilled artistry are found throughout this entertainment house, including the 10-ft high custom stainless steel door. It also boasts of a gourmet kitchen, Viking gas range, custom cabinetry, fiber-optic ceiling, retractable skylight and floor-to-ceiling windows - with oversized detached 1,600 square foot garage, and did we mention enough land for horses.
When asked why they were selling this unique Las Vegas landmark, Mrs. Rosoff replied, "We have achieved our goal of not wanting to live a boring life! It's time to move on to the next part of the journey." Adventurous entertainers looking for a little Las Vegas history should contact Paula Burlison, 702-326-4901. The historic Cactus estate is listed at $1,990,000 and includes the indoor pool.
