/24-7PressRelease/ -- Airgo Music (airgomusic.com) announces the digital single release of "No Reply". The current album "Independence Day" doesn't include "No Reply" but is available on iTunes as a single or along with the bonus CD order of "Independence Day" from the Airgo music site.
Many know Negron from his successful career as a Latin salsa star, however "No Reply" introduces his voice to a broader pop/rock English audience. Penned by super hit song writer Kara DioGuardi along with American Idol winner David Cook and John Fields. It was produced and mixed by hit maker Jimmy Greco.
Speaking of the transition from Spanish to English, Negron says: "If you're an artist, you're not required to just paint portraits; if you're an actor, you don't just star in one genre of film. So as a singer, you shouldn't be pigeonholed. You have to remember singing is an art, and if you're influenced by certain music, why not embrace it? I will absolutely go back and do another salsa record, I haven't left it behind - I would just like to do more than one thing. Once people hear this song and album, there will be no doubt that this is just another facet of who I am."
Negron was signed by WEA / Warner at the age of 17, releasing seven albums between 1997 and 2003; he spent the next three years and two albums with Sony Music. Over the years, Frankie Negron has received several Latin Grammy Award nominations, multiple Billboard Award nods, and two "Premio Lo Nuestro" Awards for "Song of the Year." In 2008, Negron joined Airgo Music, an independent record company founded by producer/songwriter Jimmy Greco (Carlos Santana, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez).
Airgo Music was formed in 2004 to operate as partners with their artists, with the vision of recreating the close bond between artist and label. A characteristic of the early days of the music industry.
Working closely with Greco and his team has given Negron a renewed sense of purpose and passion as an artist, and recording this album has been one of the most cathartic and transformative creative experiences of his career. Negron explains, "While with the majors, I found myself less involved - I fell into the routine of recording, performing, and repeating the process - I just stopped pushing myself. Making this album has served not only to help me learn more about myself, it has also helped to reawaken my love and passion for what I do."
