With over 20 years of professional experience, 10 of which have been in her current position, Mrs. Record-Halpern specializes in family and internal medicine. She is responsible for obtaining medical histories, conducting physical examinations on pediatric through geriatric patients, diagnosing illnesses, formulating treatment plans, reading and interpreting X-rays, evaluating test results, preventative health maintenance, women's health issues, patient education, psychiatric evaluation, and administering vaccinations and writing prescriptions. Mrs. Record-Halpern also acts as a mentor for physician assistant, nursing, and medical assistant students.
Mrs. Record-Halpern considers being named valedictorian of the College of Allied Health and achieving Dean's List status at the University of California, Los Angeles to be the highlights of her academic career. She is a student scholarship recipient from the California Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistant Journal. She is also a recipient of the Charles W. Buggs' Academic Achievement Award (the highest student graduate honor). She receives continuous praise and appreciation from her patients and colleagues and ascribes her success to her unwavering commitment, work ethic, dedication and passion for her profession and helping people in need.
A certified physician assistant, Mrs. Record-Halpern holds certification in both basic and advanced cardiac life support. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles and graduated summa cum laude from Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science with a Bachelor of Health Science and PA Certification in 1999. She is a fellow member of the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the California Academy of Physician Assistants. She supports The Alzheimer's Association, The Union Rescue Mission, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Feed the Children, The American Breast Cancer Foundation, The American Diabetes Association, and The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Mrs. Record-Halpern aspires to teach physician assistant studies at the university level and to write articles for a medical journal in addition to continuing seeing patients in clinical practice. She is highly committed to a lifetime of learning and education.
