AUSTIN, TX, February 03, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/
-- Light Bohrd introduces the world's first longboard with integrated headlights and tail lights for added rider safety at ISPO 2014 in Munich.
The Urban Commuter longboard utilizes Light Bohrd's patent pending technology which features fully embedded components. There are no wires, batteries or switches to worry about. The LED light engine is motion activated and charges wirelessly with a Duracell PowerMat charger.
The longboard design was created by several of Light Bohrd's riders. Product Engineer Jim Hotchkin said, "We went through 10 design iterations before finalizing the design. Performance of the board comes first." The product has been thoroughly tested before being brought to the market, which did include running the boards into curbs at 20+mph, sometimes inadvertently.
Light Bohrd's team recognizes that commuting on a longboard isn't just something done in broad day light. Once the sun sets, riders are at risk of not being seen. Several cities and campuses have also started to give citations to longboarders for riding on the street with no tail light. Light Bohrd's technology effectively addresses these issues.
Jennifer French, Light Bohrd's VP of Sales said the response to the Urban Commuter at ISPO 2014 was overwhelming. "It reaffirms our passion, riders recognize the value add of safety. Of course we had to impress them first with quality of construction coupled with a solid design first."
