She then worked as a clerk for an intellectual property firm, where she later became an Associate. She attributes her success to her honesty, fair billing practices, diligence and determination to succeed.

Ms. Liewald received her JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1986, Master of Arts in Philosophy and Dual Baccalaureate Degrees.
