COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, September 9, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lisa Pence, Art Director of NavPress, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership, and excellence in her field.
Attributing her success to her strong sense of typography and acute sensitivity to spatial relationships, Ms. Pence has worked as Art Director at NavPress for five years. She has acquired extensive knowledge of periodical and marketing design while working in the publishing industry.
In 2001, Ms. Pence received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with a minor in Advertising from Iowa State University, where she appeared on the Dean's List four years in a row. Throughout her 10-year career, she has received several distinctions. Her work has been recognized four times in Print Magazine's Regional Design Annual. In addition, Ms. Pence has received Evangelical Press Association's Higher Goals Awards for Publication Redesign in 2002, Typography in 2005, and First Place in Two-Page Design in 2007. She also served on the Innovation Leadership Team that redefined David C. Cook's corporate presence.
In addition to enjoying her role at NavPress, Ms. Pence, who strives to "be the change she wants to see," freelances as PenceDesign. She has also donated corporate identity work to several community groups and provided both local and national nonprofit organizations with original works of fine art to be sold at silent auctions. She holds membership to the InDesign User Group of Denver and has been recognized by the Golden Key National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Beta Sigma Honor Society. In the future, she hopes to gain further experience in public speaking and become proficient in web design.
