Liz Parkinson Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Publishing

    NSW, AUSTRALIA, December 19th, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Liz Parkinson, Owner of Lazy Lizard Publishing, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in publishing.

Upon completion of a bachelor's degree in economics at The University of Sydney and a diploma of education from The University of Newcastle, Ms. Parkinson embarked on a career in teaching which spanned the next 15 years. She also honed a skill set for computer technology throughout her career. Passionate about art- written and visual- Ms. Parkinson has spent the past 40 years showing her work, which is widely recognized for its unique style of imagery. In 1984, Ms. Parkinson founded Lazy Lizard Publishing; a publishing house which sells books, posters, cards, T-shirts, and unusual artwork on an international scale.

Since founding her publishing business, Ms. Parkinson has written and illustrated several books. She has published three books which cover Australian history topics, entitled, "Terrigal, A History of the Area," "The Underwoods: Lock, Stock and Barrell," and "Landmarks of Old Sydney Cove." Her writing style combines non-fiction tales of families and places with her personal experiences living in Australia. Through her authentic approach, and belief in the motto "To thine own self be true," Ms. Parkinson creates stories, written work, and art which is unparalleled. She is distinguished from other authors and artists in her field due to an elaborately detailed art style and unique book material regarding Australian history.

In her role as owner of Lazy Lizard Publishing, Ms. Parkinson oversees all aspects of business operations. She is also heavily involved in the company's creative process and often shares her talent for writing and creating art. In addition to writing and illustrating books, Ms. Parkinson designs wooden masks and gorgeous jewelry. Commonly referred to as an outsider artist, she is proficient in multimedia production and imaginative art. The highlight of her career was having her artwork commended by the French painter and sculptor Jean Dubuffet. Three of her works were subsequently purchased for the Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne, Switzerland. In the coming years, Ms. Parkinson intends to remain steadfast in her position and continue influencing the art and publishing industries.

Ms. Parkinson is a member of the Australian Society of Authors, Society of Australian Genealogists, and the Central Coast Multi-Arts Confederation. Away from the demands of her work, she enjoys socializing, traveling, visiting art galleries, and playing Scrabble.
