CHICAGO, IL, December 21, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In another two weeks, millions of men and women across America will make the annual "get fit for the New Year" resolution. In another three weeks, most of them will have failed. Why? They didn't have a plan, or that plan was too cumbersome, time-consuming or expensive.

Available Jan. 1 in bookstores nationwide is the $17.95 answer for success: Price World Publishing's Hardcore Circuit Training for Men, by fitness pros Jim McHale and Chohwora Udu. It's a no-nonsense approach to high intensity fitness training, and the first book to focus exclusively on circuit training for men. (But women can use it, too.)

"This book is for guys who enjoy the challenge of intense fitness training, but find it hard to fit any kind of workout into their busy professional lives," said co-author Jim McHale, an endurance athlete and ex-amateur boxer with more than 10 years' experience designing gym circuits.

"We provide the exercises and circuits to give men the motivation, plus the expertise to dramatically improve muscular strength and aerobic fitness. But our plan doesn't require lots of expensive equipment or hours of time each day to get super fit," added co-author Chohwora Udu, a London, England-based fitness trainer with more than 30 years' experience as a professional boxer and coach. "And everything about it is portable, so you can exercise at home, at the gym, on vacation or even outside using common items as your weights."

Authors' approach is tried and true, not crazy new

Packed with workouts that use body weight, bench, kettlebell, plate, barbell, Swiss ball, hill, multiple machines or swimming exercises, Hardcore Circuit Training for Men relies on tried and tested exercises and equipment.

"We've put together workouts that have gotten results for us and for our clients for years," McHale said. "Whether you just want to lose weight or tone muscles, whether you're an athlete needing help with pre-season training or a personal trainer needing new ideas for clients, Hardcore Circuit Training for Men will help you mix things up, find motivation and really, really succeed this time."

Each exercise circuit has clear instructions and photo illustrations, plus links to Web videos that provide additional pointers. The book also includes training log sheets and three tests for gauging fitness progress.

How to get fit like the cast of 300

One of those tests is the seven-exercise timed test that Mark Twight, founder of Gym Jones, created to train and test the cast of the Frank Miller film 300.

"It's a high intensity test of your strength, power, endurance and aerobic fitness, and a great way to measure how you are doing. It also gives you great motivation to up your workout as you get stronger," McHale said. "Mark was nice enough to let us reproduce it in the book, and I think readers are going to really like the challenge."

Hardcore Circuit Training for Men will be in bookstores nationwide on Jan. 1. It's also available for purchase online at www.priceworldpublishing.com.

Founded in 2001, Price World Publishing of Chicago is an internationally recognized leader in the printing of sports and fitness titles, with more than 30 publications to date. Two more titles, Pure Physique by Michael Lipowski and Celebrity Body on a Budget by personal trainer to the stars Cornel Chin, will be published March 1.
