2014 Manatee PAL Golf Classic Sponsored by Tropicana at the Concession Golf Club

    SARASOTA, FL, February 07, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Police Athletic League of Manatee County announces that the PAL Golf Classic will be hosted by Tropicana at the magnificent Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida on April 22, 2014.

The tournament will be a four-person scramble format, beginning with registration at 8 am and a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. Entrance fees include the 18-hole round at the Concession, gift bag, continental breakfast, lunch, and a reception with buffet and drinks.

The reception has a silent auction and a live auction including a dinner for 10 aboard a luxurious 92' Lazzara Yacht, complete with captain, crew, chef and servers - donated by K23 Yacht Charters. The winning foursome each receives a trophy plus a $150 gift certificate each from the Concession Pro Shop. Second place winners receive a $100 gift certificate per player. Third place winners receive a $75 gift certificate per player. Other contests throughout the day will have cash prizes and more giveaways.

Proceeds benefit the children's programs at Manatee PAL, which includes football, cheerleading, basketball, baseball and roller hockey. Manatee PAL was established in 1989 as a way to reach at-risk and low income youth and mentoring them with sports programs to teach teamwork, responsibility, leadership and athletic skills. Additionally, each player is required to maintain passing grades in all subjects to play in games.

This year marks the Silver Anniversary for Manatee PAL. They have been providing children's services and programs for the past 25 years in Manatee County.

Golf committee chair, Bruce Bottorff hopes the event will continue to support Manatee PAL's mission. PAL's Mission is to bring law enforcement, kids and families together in a positive, safe environment through sports and academics to build a strong community.

Over 160 local business and individuals donated to the PAL Golf Classic last year. This year, a combination of sponsorships plus a matching amount from the Giving Partners program will enable the tournament to potentially double the amount collected. This year, if a sponsor pays their donation through Giving Partners on May 6, 2014, a match of up to $1,000 will be donated to Manatee PAL.
