Margaret M. Poynton Offers Spiritual Support Through Chaplaincy

Margaret Poynton oversees more than 350 staff in their training in Hospital Chaplaincy

    WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND, February 13, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margaret M. Poynton, National Administrator of the Interchurch Council for Hospital Chaplaincy, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in caring ministries.

The Interchurch Council is a hospital chaplaincy services provider most of New Zealand. In her role as administrator, Ms. Poynton uses her areas of expertise in strategic planning, leadership, and community outreach and engagement.

Ms. Poynton has many years of experience in counseling, including 13 years as the national administrator of the Interchurch Council for Hospital Chaplaincy. Besides training chaplains, she coordinates the chaplaincy services throughout 48 public hospitals and manages the grief and loss recovery program. In addition to working for the Interchurch Council for Hospital Chaplaincy, Ms. Poynton also serves as president of the Asia Pacific regional board of Beginning Experience International Ministry, Inc., which assists adults and children who have suffered a loss through separation, divorce or death.

Demonstrating her expertise, Ms. Poynton attributes her success to her vision, passion and community engagement experience. She became involved in her profession because she has always had a vision in community engagement. She has always wanted to be part of an organization that gives back.

Ms. Poynton received a degree in child and maternal health, and nursing from the Wellington School of Nursing. She also has a diploma in biblical studies. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding for her accomplishments. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, walking and gardening. In the future, Ms. Poynton plans to continue supporting and expanding the organization. She would also like to grow into a CEO role.
