Margrit Anne Wolff Honored for Entrepreneurial Success

    BEDFORDVIEW, SOUTH AFRICA, April 11, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margrit Anne Wolff, Managing Director, Owner of Mercury Freight (Pty) Ltd., was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Branding. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Ms. Wolff has 35 years of professional experience, having recently become the managing director and owner of Mercury Freight (Pty) Ltd. Over the years, she has built up a comprehensive skill set that includes sales and networking. On a daily basis, she is responsible for ensuring that company operations run smoothly. This involves taking responsibility for marketing and sales, as well as handling negotiations with lines, and relationships with international agents. As a result of her diligence and hard work, Ms. Wolff enjoys tremendous client and staff loyalty, and she is always sure to keep good relationships with her business associates.

Initially, Ms. Wolff started doing company secretarial work and studied for a CIS and then a Bcom. However, in 1979 she became involved with clearing and forwarding and selling. She soon realized that this was her niche in life. Interestingly enough, a few years later, she met her half sister and brother, who gave her information on her father; he had been a forwarder in pre-war Germany. With this realization, Ms. Wolff now feels that her passion for forwarding was in her blood.

Outside of her professional career, Ms. Wolff has two wonderful grandsons who fulfill her life. Her son-in-law is also very dear to her. She lives close to the boys and spends as much time as possible with them. They are her reason for carrying on and still working extremely hard at her age, when most people are retiring.

Looking back, Ms. Wolff attributes her success to her mentoring from great people throughout her life. She became involved in her profession by accident. She was working in accounting, and the company she was working for was going through hard times. It had a client in freight and she went and met with them and was offered a job. The highlight of her career was meeting the CEO of a major Chinese shipping line
and having him say "So you are Miss Margrit from Africa." This made her realize that she really did have an international reputation in her industry. Other highlights include starting her own company in 1999 and being successful from day one. She was able to mentor people and watch them grow into their full potential, and help people who did not have the opportunities that she has had, and opening doors for them.

Mercury Freight is a member of SAAFF. In 2013, Margrit Wolff was a nominee for the National Business Woman of the Year award in South Africa. In 2014, she received an award from "Enterprising Women" magazine in their second highest category, and is now the USA Enterprising Woman of the Year for 2014, she received the award in a ceremony in Sarasota Florida. This category recognizes those business women that have achieved more than $10 million and up to $25 million in annual sales revenues. In years to come, Ms. Wolff expects to see her business listed on the stock exchange.
