AMMAN, JORDAN, January 23, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark Clark, Chief Executive Officer of Generations For Peace, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in sustainable international development.
As the CEO of Generations for Peace, Mr. Clark is responsible for leading an international NGO dedicated to the use of sport-based approaches to resolving conflict. His primary professional interests are managing and transforming conflict, supporting programs in 48 countries and territories around the world. Mr. Clark attributes his success to his hard work, networking, energy and persistence, but above all finds motivation in the inspirational efforts of individuals working for peace in communities blighted by conflict. With a military background and a passion for travel, his professional background in law led him to work in India in 2000-2001 and in 2003 he changed his life's path to international development, working in Iraq, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Papua New Guinea, before joining Generations For Peace.
Mr. Clark received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Edinburgh, where he graduated with honors in 1996. Additionally, he has received a diploma in legal practice and a master's degree in management from the Universities of Edinburgh and Lyon, respectively. He is pursuing a master's degree in change through the University of Oxford and the HEC School of Management, Paris. He is a member of the Peace and Collaborative Development Network, The Change Leaders, the Law Society of Scotland and the Society of Writers to Her Majesty's Signet, as well as the Order of the British Empire, an honor he was granted after performing services to re-establish youth and sport activities and organizations in Iraq. Mr. Clark's ambition over the next few years is to grow and develop Generations For Peace to the next phase of its evolution as a world-leading partner of choice in the field of sport for peace and development, demonstrating tangible positive impact in communities around the world.
