Ms. Farrell-Trent invented a new breast x-ray mammogram machine in 2005, for which she received the Patent Award from the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2008. Previously, she operated her own child care center in 1993 and a laundromat in 1997. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the Metropolitan College of New York in 2006 and holds a Certification in Child Care Provider Program from Brooklyn College (1994), a Certification in Parent Leadership Project from the New York City Department of Education (1993), a Certification in Word Processing from the Adelphi Institute (1986) and a Certification in Airport Computer and Ticket Agent from the Panamerican School of Travel (1985).
