DALLAS, TX, February 19, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A number of animals are abused and neglected everyday in this nation. Martin Sweeney of Dallas is trying to bring awareness to the growing problem. Martin Sweeney of Dallas works closely with the Dallas ASPCA. As an animal loving person, Martin Sweeney of Dallas finds nothing more important.

"These animals are unable to help themselves," said Martin Sweeney of Dallas. "It is our responsibility to fight for them."

The ASPCA was founded in 1866 to find and promote ways to prevent and stop animal cruelty. The ASPCA was the first humane organization to operate in the Western world. The organization makes sure animals are behaviorally, emotionally, and physically well. The beliefs of the organization are why Martin Sweeney of Dallas is a great fan.

Martin Sweeney of Dallas has worked with the organization for over ten years. He donates his time and money for the cause. Martin Sweeney of Dallas opens his home to the animals in care of the ASPCA as well. The ASPCA works with all kinds of animals not just dogs and cats. It also helps horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, and small reptiles. They currently do not work with wild animals.

Martin Sweeney of Dallas has two golden retriever puppies of his own. The two puppies were found left along the highway in a closed box. Martin Sweeney of Dallas could not stand the sight of how malnourished the puppies were. Being the big breed dog lover Martin Sweeney of Dallas is, he just had to take the puppies for himself.

"They were only about six weeks old," said Martin Sweeney of Dallas, "they haven't even had the chance to live. I brought them in, and now they are happy and healthy."

Martin Sweeney of Dallas recently went with ASPCA workers to rescue a mistreated horse. The horse was tied to a tree with a rope only about two feet long. Martin Sweeney of Dallas could not believe no water or food had been given to the horse in days. The horse had an open wound on its back from the flies biting at it. The owner did not think anything was wrong or understand why it was a problem.

The horse has been taken into care and is in recovery. The former owner is getting the help they need. Martin Sweeney of Dallas plans on working with the organization for many years to come. Helping animals is Martin Sweeney of Dallas's goal.

About: Martin Sweeney of Dallas is a man for animals.
