Maurice Galli has more than 60 years of professional experience designing and manufacturing jewelry. For the past 6 years, Mr. Galli has been the Senior Head Designer for Harry Winston, Inc. While nature determines a diamond's clarity, carat weight and color, only the expertise of a master craftsman can capture the unique brilliance of each diamond. Harry Winston, Inc. evaluates and selects each diamond individually. Harry Winston jewelry strives for perfection and offers only the rare, the exceptional and the timeless.
Mr. Galli attributes his success to the love and enjoyment gained from the jewelry design profession. Mr. Galli became involved with jewelry design through the guidance of his family. Several members of his family were in the business of designing jewelry, which eventually inspired him to become a designer. The most gratifying moment of Mr. Galli's career was when he was hired to create jewelry for the Shah of Iran's wife.
Mr. Galli's earned his graduate degree in jewelry design, Bijouterie Joaillerie Orfèvrierie (BJO) from the Institution for Jewelry in Paris in 1948. Mr. Galli is also an adjunct professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He has written and published three books including "Designing Jewelry: Brooches, Bracelets, Necklaces and Accessories," "The Art of Jewelry Design: Principles of Design, Rings and Earrings," and "Creative Variations in Jewelry Design."
