Me Fine Foundation to be Featured on 2013 Helmet of Hope
Me Fine Chosen as One of 12 Charities Shown on Jimmie Johnson's Helmet of Hope During August 2013 Sprint Cup Race
RALEIGH, NC, August 18, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Me Fine Foundation, Inc. (http://www.mefinefoundation.org) will be featured on Jimmie Johnson's Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope at Michigan International Speedway on August 18, 2013. Me Fine was chosen in a drawing in April as one of the 12 charities on the Helmet of Hope. In addition to being featured on the Helmet, the foundation also received a $10,000 grant and an ice cream part sponsored by Blue Bunny.
Partnering with Duke and UNC's children's hospitals, Me Fine Foundation provides financial and emotional support for the families of terminally ill children, allowing them to dedicate their time to healing and recuperating.
Since the inception of the Blue Bunny Helmet of Hope Program, the Jimmie Johnson Foundation has donated over $430,000 to 61 different charities. Me Fine Foundation was nominated by Executive Director Joey Powell and chosen in a drawing this past April, along with California based charity, Chelsea's Hope.
In regards to next week's Helmet of Hope event, Joey Powell said, "We flattered to have been selected for this honor by the Jimmie Jonson Foundation and Blue Bunny. As we're currently seeking to grow our brand and the number of families we help each year, there's nothing quite like this type of support from such a recognized name in the sports world. We hope to see the Me Fine logo in Victory Lane!"
Jimmie Johnson will be wearing the Helmet of Hope throughout the weekend of August 18, 2013 at the Michigan International Speedway, where he will be participating in the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
