Ms. Ta is a rising star in the IT industry, with over 12 years experience in progressively advancing management roles at Bell Canada and Microsoft. In late 2012, Ms. Ta began following her dream of being an entrepreneur, starting her own company, Talan Inc. Melanie brings a wealth of experience in business strategy and planning, business development and strategic partnerships and alliances. Ms. Ta developed the first Unified Communications partner ecosystem while at Bell and lead the negotiations of a multi-year, multi-million dollar reseller agreement with Microsoft, bringing to market Bell Canada's first SaaS offering.
At Microsoft Ms. Ta was responsible for building and managing the first telco syndication channel for Office 365 in Canada. Her accountabilities included end-to-end ownership of the sales and marketing program, budget and results across Canada. Ms. Ta's accomplishments contributed to the explosive growth of Microsoft's cloud services including her own achievements exemplified by 3 consecutive years of over achievement, significantly exceeding market share and revenue growth targets.
This month marks the launch of Ms. Ta's latest venture, Talan, Inc. As a new entrepreneur and business owner, she endeavors to connect people with ideas, businesses with opportunities and provide a bridge connecting overseas people and businesses with the North American market. Ms. Ta brings a background and discipline of building new businesses and channels in large organizations and will continue to leverage the skills used to break new frontiers in IT such as UC and cloud services to build and scale her own business ventures.
Ms. Ta holds a Bachelor of Commerce in economics, finance and industrial relations from the University of Toronto. She is particularly knowledgeable about telecommunications, unified communications and collaboration, cloud services, software as a service (SaaS), strategy and marketing, and channel sales.
