/Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Michel T. Closson, Senior Principal Systems Engineer for Northrop Grumman, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in defense contracting.
Throughout an impressive military career in which he led a 600-soldier battalion through a new Army combat training strategy involving emerging weapon system tactics, Closson developed into a successful leader who was able to mobilize teams in executing goals. He has coordinated several overseas deployments for soldiers, equipment, facilities and operational positions and been instrumental in the implementation of cutting-edge military technology. In addition to air and missile defense and systems engineering, Closson's expertise lies in his ability to identify and resolve issues while remaining focused on core objectives.
In his current role of nine years, Closson has served the Network Centric Systems Division of one of the nation's leading defense contractors. Overseeing analytical data and mission systems integration, as well as training initiatives worth sums in excess of $31 million, he works to ensure that processes are standardized to manage risks. As a member of several product teams featuring professionals from myriad disciplines, he coordinates schedules for integrated exercises involving modeling and simulation, systems analysis, design principles and configuration, and information assurance. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Closson worked for the Army's Test and Evaluation Command from 2001 to 2003 after 20 years of active service.
Closson holds a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in electronics and technology from Excelsior College and a Master of Science in space systems engineering management from Webster University. He complemented these formal degrees by completing a warrant officer advanced course, a patriot missile system technician course, a maintenance supervisor's course, and coursework in mechanical design. A member of the Military Officers Association of America, he has received technical honors from the Raytheon Company.
