/24-7PressRelease/ -- Veteran Combo Guard Mike Crain has agreed to a deal with the ABA's Southeast Texas Mavericks for the 2009-2010 season. Crain who played for the CBA's East Kentucky Miners last season will report to training camp later this month.
Crain, who is going into his third year as a pro started his first year overseas with Al-Sahel in Slovakia before heading to the East Kentucky Miners of the CBA during the 2007-2008 season.
During his time with the Miners, Mike averaged 10 points, 2 rebounds & 2 assist per game shooting 46% from the field, 44% from 3-point range & 66% at the line.
He was named to the CBA All-Rookie Team and was a candidate for CBA Player of the Week twice that year. For the 2008-2009 season, Crain returned to the Miners for a short season when the league folded. He averaged 13 points per game last year.
Crain received some interest from teams this summer from Denmark and Iceland but due to a declining economy in Europe decided to keep his game in the states. Crain is represented by Sports Agent Nate McCray of Dynasty Sports Management in Michigan.
