With 26 years of professional experience, Ms. Brown is recognized as an expert in biology and laboratory management. She assumed her current position at Scott & White in 1997. Her responsibilities include managing laboratory operations, recruiting, training and supervising staff, ordering supplies, handling capital budgets, writing, reviewing and revising procedure manuals and institutional policies, participating in CAP inspections for quality assurance, inspecting laboratories and clinics across the country, certifying lab technicians, and ensuring workplace safety. Ms. Brown has also co-authored several articles in several healthcare publications. She attributes her success to her parents, who taught her the importance of having a purpose in life.

Ms. Brown received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 1996 from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and her Associate of Applied Science in 1985 from Temple College. She sits on the survey panel of the College of American Pathologists. In five years, Ms. Brown plans to pursue her MBA, advance in her career with Scott & White, and become an instructor at a junior college or university.
