Morro Bay Area Hotel Expects Busy Summer Season

The Shoreline Inn, a hotel on California's Central Coast in Cayucos, anticipates an increase in tourists this summer over 2012.

CAYUCOS, CA, May 09, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With spring passing and summer on its way, the California Central Coast is gearing up for high tourist season. Reservations for activities and lodging are increasing all along the coastline, a trend that Laila Fiege-Kollmann, owner/innkeeper at Cayucos Shoreline Inn (http://www.cayucosshorelineinn.com/) has noticed at her own establishment as well.

"Cayucos has incredible natural beauty and small town charm," Fiege-Kollmann says about the coastal location of the Shoreline Inn. "All of the hotels in Cayucos see a huge surge in reservations this time of year as everyone starts planning their summer vacations. Our hotel has seen bookings increase significantly over the already busy 2012 season."

The California Central Coast comprises the area of coastline that stretches between Santa Barbara to the south and Monterey to the north, including dozens of iconic California landmarks in between. Several major tourist destinations are spread along the Central Coast, including Hearst Castle, the estate of renowned media mogul William Randolph Hearst. Many visitors come just to drive along scenic Highway 1 through Big Sur, a section of road that's widely considered one of the most beautiful drives in the country.

One of the primary attractions of the Central Coast is the scenic wine country with its many festivals and tastings throughout the summer months, many of which are within a half-hour drive from Cayucos. This month, Paso Robles hosts its annual Wine Festival in its downtown park and at wineries throughout the town. San Luis Obispo holds their annual Roll Out the Barrels wine tasting event in June. In mid-July, Avila Beach hosts the Annual Central Coast Wine Classic. And, for those who prefer handcrafted beers, San Luis Obispo celebrates local craft brewers at Brews and Bites at the end of August.

Other cultural activities in the area include the Central Coast Shakespeare Festival in Paso Robles in July, and the Central Coast Renaissance Festival in San Luis Obispo at the end of July. Local summer theatre productions for the upcoming 2013 season include Les Miserables, Shrek the Musical and The Sound of Music.

Cayucos holds its own 4th of July celebration every year, a home-grown event that includes a parade, sand sculpture contest, Peddler's Faire and of course, fireworks. Fireworks shows can be enjoyed in several nearby cities as well. Morro Bay features Art in the Park on the 4th as well for local artisans to sell their works. On July 13th, Cayucos welcomes participants from the six-mile Rock to Pier run that starts out at the Rock in Morro Bay and marks the Cayucos pier as the finish line.

"Cayucos is a hidden gem with a small town feel," explains Fiege-Kollmann, whose Cayucos motel offers both beachfront rooms, larger deluxe rooms in its Lobby Building, and Pet Friendly rooms as well. "There are so many activities to enjoy in the area, yet coming back to Cayucos makes you feel like you're getting away from it all. It's the best of both worlds."

Surrounded by wineries and idyllic sandy beaches, Cayucos itself remains remarkably undiscovered and underdeveloped. Located almost exactly at the halfway point between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the town has the cool summers and mild winters that the California coast is known for, but without the urban sprawl.

"The Cayucos Shoreline Inn has been family owned and operated since 1980," says Fiege-Kollmann. "Our goal is to provide the personal service you don't get much at larger resorts and hotel chains. We like to say you come as a guest, but you leave as family. And for people looking for pet friendly hotels in Morro Bay, the Shoreline Inn even allows guests' dogs to accompany them to breakfast, and provides sheets and towels dedicated for pet use during their stay. There's really something for everyone here."

Bordering the picturesque shoreline of Cayucos, California, Shoreline Inn (http://www.cayucosshorelineinn.com/) has been the California Central Coast's destination for relaxation and getting away from it all since 1980. With a reputation for some of the most pet-friendly accommodations on the Central Coast, Shoreline Inn has accommodations that fit any occasion. Whether its guests want to take in 180-degree panoramic ocean views or just hide from the world next to a cozy gas fireplace, Shoreline Inn continues to renovate and innovate, ensuring it remains the No. 1 destination for vacations in Cayucos, "the coolest small town in America."
