TOKYO, JAPAN, June 17, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The translation industry today is limited to only two options; one is to go the traditional route, and simply use a human translator, or secondly, to use a computer-generated translation service such as the one offered by Google. The Tokyo-based venture company anydooR Inc. launched a third option named Conyac ( http://www.conyac.cc/ ).

Tomohiro Kikuchi, cofounder of anydooR, said "I wanted to have a translation service that people could use as easily as if they asked their friends for help." Professional translators are usually too expensive to hire for the average individual. However, it is a well-established fact that free computer-generated translations are usually low in quality and rather unreliable. Conyac, on the other hand, provides high-quality translations at low prices.

According to anydooR's guide, Conyac enables you to request a translation easily, with fast results guaranteed. The translation request posted by a user can be for personal or business relations. The members on the website consist of registered translators and requestors (meaning an individual who makes a translation request). On the website, users can ask for translations in exchange for a small amount of money and other users around the world can then translate the requests, receiving rewards in return.

Allowing users from all over the world to participate in translating makes multilingual translations possible. As of today, translations in 16 languages are available through Conyac and even more languages will be added whenever a new translator with an unregistered language joins the website. Furthermore, anydooR unveiled their plan to add a new feature that would enable users to upload image files containing text, scripts and multilingual interfaces "We believe Conyac will become a world standard as a translation tool and help people overcome language barriers," stated Naoki Yamada, also a co-founder of anydooR.

Lastly, as a quick note, the business model of Conyac won the highest award of Entrepreneurial Challenge 2009 which was a business plan contest organized by Skylight Consulting Inc.
