CHARLOTTE, NC, February 16, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Murata Machinery USA is putting a new face on the long history of turning automation work being done at its Charlotte facility. A new division focusing on Gaging and Automation Systems is now dedicated to continuing the automation work that has always been accomplished within their Machine Tool Turning Division.

"It's really an exciting time here in Charlotte," said Steve Landrum, Sales Manager of Turning Products for Murata, "the market is demanding controlled process capability and the Gaging and Automation Systems division will keep us where we want to be: at the forefront of delivering accuracy for our clients."

The gages being developed and manufactured will garner special interest for various applications, but the concepts will inform future automation innovations as well.

"Our customers in the automotive, bearings, and valve and fitting industries appreciate our commitment to protecting their interests," Landrum said, "and real time feedback is invaluable to companies who want to remain profitable."

Landrum also noted that all the software being used was developed right in Charlotte, and has the added value of being compatible with both new and older machine designs.

The Gaging and Automation Systems division will be offering post process gages, infeed systems, outfeed systems, shuttles and transfers, and orientation stations as part of their product and service offerings.

"There's really no limit to what this technology can accomplish," Landrum said.

Murata Machinery USA, Inc.'s Machine Tool Turning Division supplies reliable, twin- and single-spindle automated turning centers. These machines feature innovative technology and compact designs for high productivity and intelligent gantry-loader material handling. Users of Muratec's automated CNC lathes include automotive engineering, bearing manufacturing, valves and fittings, and other industries that depend on precision, high-speed turning centers.
