Waggs n Wet Noses Pet Sitting Service was launched in the summer of 2008 in Naperville, IL. This pet sitting service offers daily and vacation pet sitting to Naperville area residents. In 2009, Waggs n Wet Noses assisted in the rescue of longhaired dachshunds living at a kill shelter in Virginia, IL, PETA, and other rescue groups. This year Waggs n Wet Noses' goal is to also donate locally to such shelters as the Naperville Humane Society and ADOPT. Shelters and animal rescues are seeing a higher numbers of pet abandonment due to the downturn of the economy. More than 4 million dogs along are euthanized in the US each year and those numbers may rise in 2009 due to the increased number of animals coming into shelters.
