An RSVP Club membership - free for the initial six months - includes how-to videos, forums, menu suggestions, behind-the-scenes interviews, and a monthly live video chat with Shelby.
"People are clamoring for party ideas on the internet," notes Monique Roy, Potluck's web and marketing master. She notes that in one month, over 4.5 million web searches were made on Yahoo and Google alone for the top ten party-related terms. "Millions of people want the information we're providing with one convenient click of the mouse," she continues.
The concept is unique according to the show's producer Charlotte Marshall. She points out that there aren't any how-to shows on TV or the Internet like "Shelby's Secrets to a Great Party" that demonstrate how to plan a party with an easy-to-follow formula.
"Cooking shows touch on entertaining, but they don't include all aspects of planning an event from start to finish," explains Marshall. "We took this into account when designing the site and the show, formatting everything to accommodate people's busy lifestyles and making it easy for them to have this information at their fingertips from one place."
Other highly desired party plans scheduled for the next few months include milestone birthday and graduation celebrations, Mother's Day and Father's Day ideas and specialty theme parties.
"The business community has been trying to figure out how to make Internet sites profitable business models and we've been told by industry experts that ours is a viable formula," says Roy. It encompasses all the new technology applications - Internet, video on demand, smartphones, and even pumptop TV - which play into their short-format video segments.
