SEATTLE, WA, February 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Myotronics, Inc, the pioneer in Neuromuscular dental science and technologies became a part of the New Orleans Saints' historic Super Bowl win by providing the technologies to fit custom mouth guards known as the Makkar PPM. In September 2009, 35 Saints players were fit for the custom devices and could be seen on national television with the signature mouth pieces throughout the season. Tracy Porter's interception of Peyton Manning in the Fourth Quarter, no doubt sealed the Saints' victory - Porter is a champion of the Makkar PPM.

The athletes were fit using the J5 Myomonitor, an ultra-low frequency TENS unit designed to relax the muscles of the face to find the optimal biting position and verified using a specialized system of jaw-tracking and muscle monitoring known as the K7 Evaluation System. Once this 'perfect' relationship is pinpointed, a dental impression is taken and the mouth guard is fabricated. With the jaw in the optimal position athletes have reported better range of motion, flexibility and balance as well as improved body posture.

This isn't the first time Neuromuscular dentistry has been in the spotlight. The PPM and Neuromuscular dentistry has been featured as a cover story for USA TODAY's sports section as well as commentary on the Makkar PPM by coach/commentator Jon Gruden during a segment of Monday Night Football.

The science behind the performance bite stems from Neuromuscular concepts, which have been used by Neuromuscular dentists for years to treat headaches, TMJ pain, and bruxism. Myotronics, Inc will be offering a seminar for dentists to learn more about Neuromuscular dentistry, including a presentation on the PPM June 25-26, 2010 in Seattle. Please contact Myotronics, Inc for more information or visit their website.

Myotronics, Inc is the pioneer and industry leader of neuromuscular dentistry - its philosophy and equipment. For over 40 years, passion and a commitment to advancing the science of neuromuscular dentistry has been the central focus.
