BRISTOL, ENGLAND, January 11, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bestselling Amazon author and entrepreneur Sam Beddall believes physical fitness and the means to an attractive body have become over-complicated and obscured by clever marketing tactics and storytelling by industry professionals. In his new ebook, Get Ripped Regardless: Escape the Gym, Look Great, Love Life, he explains why most of the fitness industry only exists to make money, not to help you get in shape. He also provides an easy-to-follow workout and nutrition strategy that lets you eat what you want and exercise at home - helping busy 9 to 5ers to achieve the body they never thought they could.
"Most of the fitness industry, apart from the occasional breakthrough such as intermittent fasting, is merely spinning its wheels. Everyone knows that the information is out there already, but still we go out every year and spend hundreds and hundreds of pounds on new programmes and pills, in the hope they'll make us look like a Hollywood actor or actress. It's time we put our wallets away, stop idolising celebrities and find out for ourselves what really works and what doesn't".
In Get Ripped Regardless, he reveals that the simple workout and diet combination was devised with the busy modern person in mind, and is grounded in solid research/experience.
"This book is the culmination of thousands of hours spent exercising and thousands of pounds spent on books, magazines and supplements during my teens and twenties," explains Beddall, at an informal interview in Bristol. "I want people to understand that getting and staying in shape is not as hard as we've been led to believe. The fact is that your body wants to be in shape. It's only our learnt habits and reactions to food that make it otherwise".
"I'm not saying the workouts and diets in this book will turn you into an Arnold Schwarzenegger - that's a completely different level. What they will do, if taken on board, is give you a strong foundation for an easygoing, sociable way of life, while still looking amazing and feeling fit. The hard and fast rules that this book abides by have been used by some of the greatest professional bodybuilders and athletes for years, right up to the modern day. I'm a big believer than in order to be successful, you need to at first emulate the people who have already done it, then find your own way. That's what we're setting out to do".
He explained that this book is not just for the weekend warrior or casual trainer, it can be utilised by all levels of athletes, regardless of present activity level.
"For those who like a challenge, there is still a measure of progression and a lot of scope for enhancing the intensity level. The material is there. There's so much you can do with it once you know why you're doing it. I've had so many emails and great reviews from readers about this series, telling me how they've learnt something, how it's got them exercising again after a long lay-off. People are beginning to realise it's not hard as they were told".
When it came to diet and new years' resolutions, he had a thought-provoking parting shot.
"Foods should never be focused around 'weight loss' or 'weight gain'. This just leads to compulsive behaviour, as I found out myself a few years ago. I even hesitate to use the word 'diet'. Any eating regimen you adopt should abide by the five principles of time, social flexibility, digestion, adaption and progression potential. If they don't, you're expending too much energy on something simple. Forget it."
