New York Fashion Week Opening Gala unveils Jazmin Whitley's new line
The chicest city in the USA Kicks off its fashion week with an opening charity gala that will show off designers from across America.

    /24-7PressRelease/ - MANHATTAN, NY, August 26, 2008 - New York Fashion Week has long been a pinnacle for previewing next season's fashion from around the world. This historic platform in which fashion insiders and industry tastemakers are able to view next season's fashion, will kick off this year with New York Fashion Week Opening charity Gala, presented by Blue Star Jets. This groundbreaking event set atop the roof penthouse of the hotel Pennsylvania, Manhattan will be an exclusive event hosted by Vh1's Amanda Diva and NY Giants cornerback Geoffrey Pope.

Jazmin Whitley designer of the Li Cari fashion house, will debut her spring summer 2009 collection by closing the show. Miss Whitley, was invited to be the featured designer and will be unveiling her new line "J.Whitley". Jazmin Whitley will not only be showcasing her new line but also will be shooting for MTV's Catwalk. Whitley States " I'm so excited to be part of this amazing event, where I get to introduce my new line to New York and help one of my favorite charities". She also adds "I feel so honored to be working with MTV on this project, it's been
so much fun."

In attendance will be VIP celebrity guests as well as socialites, buyers, editors, and media outlets from all the major print magazines New Yorkers will be treated to the first of its kind in fashion, an opening charity event that brings seven high fashion couture designers and seven urban designers together under one roof on one runway to help CharityWater.org bring clean water to those that don't have, this event will help Charity Water benefit the 1.1 billion people in undeveloped countries around the world, that don't have "water" a basic human need.

The evening will begin with a red carpet arrivals from 7:30pm to 9:00pm that leads into a chic cocktail party. The runway shows initiate at 9:00pm with Jazmin Whitley's Catwalk to start at 10:30pm sharp. The runway is set to extend half of the penthouse rooms, those in attendance will be treated to not only a live runway show but also seeing it broadcast on screens within the venue, with an excellent view of next season's fashion and New York City's Skyline as the backdrop this will be a red carpet event that will be talked about for many seasons to come.
