/Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Nola Miller, Owner of Nola's China Shop, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in business management.
With nearly four decades as the owner of Nola's China Shop, Ms. Miller specializes in china painting. Her business provides china and porcelain figures, ornaments, and dishes. Ms. Miller teaches a class twice a week in which her students paint scenes, flowers and portraits on porcelain. She also handles the operations of her company, including finances, business development, and curriculum development. Though she is now in her mid-80s, Ms. Miller has lost none of the passion that prompted her to start her own company, and she continues to pass on her skill to her students.
Ms. Miller attributes her success to her love of keeping others busy by teaching classes. She became involved in her profession after a cousin introduced her to the craft in 1970. She has been fascinated by china paintings ever since. Ms. Miller is a member of the World Organization of China painters (WOCP) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Colorado Organization and the columbine China Decorators of Pueblo, Colorado. She looks forward to continuing her work in the coming years. She also teaches knitting and crochet to anyone interested. She gives her slippers, caps, lap robes and scarves to the hospice group in her area. Ms. Miller is a Lifetime Member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows of Colorado. She has been a member of the order for more than 60 years, and is a Pat Noble Grand, Theta Rho Advisor, and takes slippers, caps and gifts to the IOOF nursing home in Canon City, Colorado. With four children, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, she keeps busy painting for each of them, and has one 13 year old great granddaughter that lives near that she is teaching to paint. She has already has two pieces judged at the State China Show that have gone to the Oklahoma WOCP Museum for display. Both of her daughters china paint, and one is an oil painter. She feels blessed.
