-- The last submission is in and over 1,000 bands are waiting to hear if they've been chosen to perform at the 2013 'Race for the Cure'. Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County and ReverbNation, partnered to give independent bands the opportunity to become a part of the new concert series, inviting their fans and perhaps gaining a few more as they perform in front of the expected 15,000 people taking part in the 'Race for the Cure'.
The 17th annual family friendly event will take place at Dodger Stadium on March 23, 2013 with their 5K, their Kids Fun Run and for the more serious runner the 10K Double Down. Over 15,000 guests are expected for the day's festivities and one lucky ReverbNation band and their fans will be a historic part of giving back to the Los Angeles community, impacting the fight against Breast Cancer.
Those entered are vying for the position on stage to perform with a few special musical guests, and receive the Ultimate Rock Star Treatment. They will enjoy an exclusive interview and photo opportunity with Playboy Radio; be featured on Komen's website and social media profiles; walk the pink carpet at the Race and become a part of photo and video opportunities. , Competing, bands are encouraged to register a fan team to fundraise and walk the event for a greater presence, making for a perfect opportunity to grow their fan base and message.
Our outstanding judges include Ralph Johnson of Earth, Wind and Fire, Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night, Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees, and Grammy award winning Charlie Colin of Train. They will define the music and the band invited to join the lineup and just might surprise us with a song or two as well. Musical guests who will be performing with our ReverbNation winner at the first annual Race for the Cure concert series include, International star Kim Jang Hoon, the King of Pop from South Korea; special guests, The Sledge Grits Band, teen sensation, Lauren Suthers and Christopher Hewett with Ellis, to name a few.
The 2013 'Race for the Cure' will be a day to remember and full of musical magic, while raising significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer in Los Angeles. The concert series will be a wonderful addition to the already popular Race, vendor village, health pavilion and celebrated Survivor tent.
